We booked here after having to leave a disastrous Airbnb. The staff are lovely, so welcoming, friendly and helpful. We want to say a particular thanks to Ashleigh, who served us breakfast each morning. What a lovely friendly lady! The room needs a little bit of TLC, location was perfect for us and the food is excellent. We had a wonderful stay.

We stopped for a meal to break our journey and we are really pleased we found this place. Very good easy parking, very good food, very friendly and helpful staff and reasonably priced. We would definitely return again if in the area.

stayed overnight here and it was wonderful! staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much to ask for. the room itself was small but came with everything you could need for a short stay. the restaurant/bar area felt very cozy and the food was delicious. we opted for the Sunday package, which includes the room, carvery, 2 free drinks and a full English breakfast by morning time (as well as the usual breakfast items available). if we come past here again, we will definitely pop in for another lovely meal and sit down. very highly recommended!!

Just had our wedding here and honestly cant recommend this place enough. Tom & the girls done a fantastic job of helping the night run smoothly and effortlessly. They took all the stress away from us and liased with our photographer & registrar to get all the timings spot on. We opted for the twilight package but customized it to suit our needs and nothing was too much trouble. The buffet food was fantastic, hot and cold options & the curry was unreal, very nice. The rooms where nice and cosy especially for the price, but dont be expecting anything mega luxurious. The building is an older building and has a warmly vintage feel to it. We had breakfast, there is options of hot and continental food again this was nice and staff are more than helpful, as we booked directly via the venue breakfast was included. We look forward to returning for dinner as we have been here a good few times before for food it is always a great visit here & food is well worth the price.

Rooms were basic but functional with nice bathrooms. Beds were very, very soft. Food was very nice. Had the small plates which were very nice and fairly reasonably priced. Lady on reception was lovely. Ample parking with a very nice view of the angel of the north.

Stayed in a motorhome on their large carpark. Two electric hook-up points and water tap nearby. £45 for 2 nights with a £10 voucher of an evening meal. Friendly, helpful staff, quite location. Although it's next to the A1 it wasn't noisy. Great view of the angel of the North across the road. Pub right next to major road to Gateshead and Newcastle.

We called in to The Angel Inn on Boxing Day for a late lunch. On arrival, there were very few people in and we were shown which tables were in the dog friendly area, which was where the bar is. I'm not sure if there are other dog friendly areas available but, if not, I would recommend replacing the high tables with more standard tables as it can be difficult to sit with a dog if you are on a stool. This wasn't a problem on this occasion though as we were able to get one of the two standard tables. My wife opted for the lasagne, and she said it was one of the best she'd had, whereas I opted for the roast pork dinner. Whilst the presentation wasn't the greatest - it was a large pile of mash with the vegetables and pork plonked on top - it was really tasty and I enjoyed it. There were two young ladies who seemed to be doing everything, running the bar, taking orders and serving the food, but they were really friendly and were a credit to the Inn. There are one or two things which could do with improving, such as the toilets, but this all costs money and to do so requires people to visit. We will certainly be calling back and hope that others will give The Angel Inn a try, as it is definitely worth it.
